I’m Richard Jarocki. I travel for the restaurants, the neighborhoods, the conversations, and sometimes the sound of Formula 1 cars going past.
A dinner reservation can become the starting point for an entire trip. A race weekend gives me a reason to explore a city. And a recommendation from someone behind the bar can change the plan completely.
Here, I share the places I’ve experienced firsthand: where I ate, where I stayed, what surprised me, and what I’d do differently next time. There’s plenty of luxury along the way, but I care most about whether the experience was actually worth it.

I still work in automotive finance. Travel, food, and Formula 1 are the interests I keep making more room for, and this site grew out of wanting to share what I was finding along the way.
I like a great hotel and a well-made cocktail. I also like wandering through a neighborhood without knowing exactly where I’ll end up. The research matters to me, but so do the conversations and unexpected stops that never made it onto the itinerary.
São Paulo is a city I keep returning to. Barcelona gave me another reason to combine a race weekend with restaurants I’d wanted to try. Closer to home, a dinner in New Jersey can be just as memorable as something I flew thousands of miles for.
I’m not here to make every experience sound perfect. I want to explain what made it memorable, what lived up to the expectations, and what might help you decide whether it belongs on your own list.
