Completely Unnecessary. Absolutely Worth It.

Worth Every Dollar. (Usually.)

How a simple hobby became a luxury travel blog—and then an obsession.

This wasn’t supposed to become a luxury travel blog.

It definitely wasn’t supposed to become a lifestyle.

It started with trying to find a better restaurant. A better cocktail. A hotel that was actually worth the price.

Before long, I realized the best part of traveling wasn’t always the destination—it was everything I discovered along the way.

Now every trip becomes an excuse to explore a city’s food, culture, neighborhoods, cocktail bars, hotels, and the people who bring them to life. I’ll spend months researching a single reservation, walk miles for a cocktail someone swears is unforgettable, or build an entire itinerary around a chef, a Formula 1 race, or a place most visitors never find.

Relaxing beach vacations?

Those really aren’t my thing anymore.

I’d rather spend the day wandering unfamiliar streets, talking with bartenders, chefs, and locals, and chasing the places that don’t appear in every travel guide but somehow become the highlight of the trip.

Some people collect watches.

Some people collect cars.

I collect experiences.

Not every restaurant deserves the hype. Not every luxury hotel justifies the price. That’s why everything you’ll find on this luxury travel blog comes from firsthand experience—not recycled lists or someone else’s opinion.

If an experience is sponsored or part of a partnership, I’ll tell you. The opinion will still be mine.

Has it cost me more money than I’d like to admit?

Absolutely.

Was it worth it?

Usually.

Completely unnecessary.

Absolutely worth it.

Where It All Began This is what shaped Richard Jarocki into who he is Today Long before I ever stepped into a car dealership… Long before Formula 1… Long before Michelin stars, cocktail bars, and international travel… There were my grandparents’ kitchens. My maternal grandparents lived just a few blocks from where I grew up,

Simon Kim’s Most Ambitious Restaurant Might Not Be a Restaurant at All By Richard Jarocki I’ve spent years chasing great bars. Not just famous bars. Bars where the people behind them obsess over every detail. Places where cocktails aren’t simply mixed—they’re engineered. Where the wine list isn’t there because it has to be, but because

    Formula 1 Beyond the Circuit

Follow my Instagram A Vision for the Future of Grand Prix Hospitality The Opportunity Over the past several years, I’ve traveled to Formula 1 destinations around the world—not simply to attend races, but to experience the cities that host them. Long before I purchase a race ticket, I’m researching restaurants, cocktail bars, hotels, neighborhoods, architecture,

What You’ll Find Here

This luxury travel blog is built around the experiences that make a trip worth remembering—not simply the places everyone is expected to visit.

You’ll find firsthand stories from Formula 1 weekends, destination restaurants, luxury hotels, cocktail bars, cultural landmarks, and unexpected places I discovered along the way. Some experiences required months of planning and reservations made far in advance. Others happened because I walked into the right place, met the right person, or followed a recommendation from someone who actually knew the city.

Both matter.

Travel Beyond the Obvious

I’m interested in what gives a destination its personality. That could be a tasting menu built around local ingredients, a bartender introducing me to a regional spirit, or a hotel that understands hospitality beyond an expensive room and an impressive lobby.

Formula 1 adds another layer to the journey. A Grand Prix may be the reason I book the flight, but the race is only part of the experience. The restaurants, neighborhoods, hotels, cocktail bars, and people surrounding the weekend are what turn it into a complete trip.

That is the kind of travel you’ll find here.

Firsthand Experiences and Honest Opinions

Everything begins with firsthand experience. I visit the restaurant, stay at the hotel, order the cocktail, attend the race, and explore the destination before writing about it.

I’m not interested in repeating press releases or creating another list of places someone else says you should visit. If something is exceptional, I’ll explain what made it worth the time and money. If it falls short, I’ll be honest about that too.

This luxury travel blog is not about pretending every expensive experience is extraordinary. It is about finding the ones that genuinely are—and helping you decide which reservations, hotels, races, and destinations deserve a place in your own journey.

Because luxury is not simply about spending more.

It is about experiencing something worth remembering.
